One of the things I like to principle myself on is to be as real as possible, both to myself and to others. I strive to be my own creative individual no matter what, even if it is the wrong way out of stuff. In that way I can never fail and gain everything at the same time, which is something all these kids don’t understand. One of the many parts of this relates to pictures.
It seems that all the
internet sites, especially Facebook/Instragam, thrives on a culture where
excessive fakeness if considered mandatory.
This is a large contrast to three years ago when Facebook exploded with
my generation. It was really a wonderful time because the site was so awesome
compared to the primitive sites like My Space (While I liked MS, it was not as
advanced as FB was.) We could do what
we wanted to do with it because it was all still new, and we made it our own.
But yet it’s gone all to hell since then due to the many “trends” of these
days.
One notable one is to
post useless pictures and statuses for likes and even doing crazier stuff than
that. I have seen a 14 year old post as
a status: “1,500 likes and I will post a
video of me stripping and dancing!” For one, people on these sites love that
kind of thing and if a girl is attractive enough they will like it up to make
sure it happens. I see many kids and even an 18+ friend of mine like one of
these, and that was just disgusting. You know why? If you’re under 18 and do
any kind of sexual act on video or picture wise that’s illegal, so if you are
over 18 and participate in it acts or making it then you’re screwed. It really saddens me that kids do these
things now because it demonstrates an addiction to attention and a lack of
parenting. It’s also sad seeing adults take interest of kids being ho-ish. This is one of the many things wrong with
society today. Kids should not be focused on sex until the late teen years
because it takes a while for everyone to be old enough as that’s a fact of
basic human nature and anatomy.
This also occurs with
the older folks, but this is just annoying really. It is usually really tame and crappy stuff that is usually
seen on the porn sites like RedTube/X-Hamster/X Videos and should not even be
on Facebook to begin with. These posters
lack credibility to me and I usually tend to ignore there crappy videos because
that stuff is too easy to find. They are
too old to be educated so they are best off going to a strip club or any other
place where adult entertainers go.
I am not saying there
is nothing wrong with taking pics, in fact go right ahead. It’s always been a staple of these places to
do that sort of thing and when it’s done right it can be wonderful. Especially
in a time capsule sort of way as it helps to show how people have changed over
time. This can also help to tell if a person is real or not, because some fake
profiles use fake pictures, seen it plenty of times and it sucks all the
same. But at the same time there is a right and a
wrong way to do even this. If you do it right then it can be a re-warding
process, but if not then you can be disrespecting yourself in the worst cases.
If anyone wants some
advice, here is some points I would like to bring forward:
1-Don’t post too many
pics in one day. I have seen some girls post 25 pics a day for several days,
that can get old if there is no innovation or variety.
2-Don’t be a ho in
these things. Wear a shirt, even if it’s extremely dirty that’s what they are
for after all. Bikini shots are great but
it can go overboard when someone acts like they are trying to take it off.
3-Be appreciative of
the support you receive. Some people are ignored unfairly while the “hot” blonde
who takes model shots gets tons of support and could care less.
4-Actually try to have
a personality in these things. Some of
the picture crowds are lifeless at all times as they try to show no emotion.
While that is good while acting like a statue it is not good for anything
else. If you express who you are, then odds
are it will likely to be more remembered.
Now, I am not trying to
call anyone out per se, I just don’t like the whole ho-ish vibe going on. There is a time and a place for that, and Facebook
is one that should be avoided. And I am not trying to be a prude either because I am an adult male, I like the typical male stuff that can get wild behind the scenes (besides drugs of course.) I like the ladies and do flirt with the them (focus on the word, not girls but LADIES.) The whole "easy getting naked culture" get's old after a while because there are actually some guys that enjoy challenges when dealing with this stuff as the good ladies of society are rather hard to break. I think that's a fine thing because it shows principle, which by being easy does not.
So in conclusion be smart and pride-full. You can do this by wrapping up but staying sexy and actually earning your likes by your inner soul instead of cheap thrills through your black hole. (Sorry, had to censor for the kids.)
